Pricing Redesign: Achieve a 44% increase in financial results.

Situation. Web3 API is Ankr’s leading developer platform, processing over 8B monthly requests across multiple blockchain networks. However, users struggled to understand the differences between pricing tiers and the value of paid plans.

Action. I audited the existing solution, analyzed metrics and user feedback with the PM, and reviewed competitor solutions. Based on these insights, I redesigned the flow with a focus on clarity and comparison, and supported its implementation with the dev team.

Result. After launch, deposits increased by 49% from Q3 to Q4, with financial results growing by 44% on average.

Problem

The pricing plans block on the Web3 API landing page and in the SaaS dApp wasn’t reaching its full potential. It hadn’t been updated or thoughtfully designed since launch. So it was time to rethink it.

Research

  1. After a call with the Web3 API Product Manager and a review of the metrics, I confirmed a high and increasing drop-off rate, along with low CTR to Premium.
  2. I also uncovered insights from the Hotjar feedback widget and our support team: users struggled to compare plans in detail and understand the value of paid tiers.

3. I analyzed competitor pricing pages and identified best practices we were missing.

Design Process

Relying on the research, I quickly iterated through potential solutions, exploring different layouts, patterns, and elements.

Solution

The Sales team added the “Deal” tier at the last minute, and I combined the strongest aspects of each iteration into a final solution. The new pricing block features:

  1. A B2B-grade look and feel, with a clear, value-driven headline and copy
  2. Premium-focused plan cards that highlight value and encourage upgrades
  3. A dedicated layout for the Enterprise tier, emphasizing its uniqueness
  4. Emotional “WOW” touch — an abstract background.

I also designed a comparison table to enable clear side-by-side comparison, with structured benefits, segmentation, and hierarchy.

Everything was quickly adapted for mobile, but there’s still room for improvement with more time and resources.

Impact

These updates significantly improved the overall user experience, reflected in improved metrics and a reduction in support tickets related to plans.

From a business perspective, we observed a boost in all financial metrics in mid-October, including the number of deposits and deductions across various currencies.
